Today is August 14, 2009 and Danny and I have just arrived in Pittsburgh for a little "Pittsburgh Wedding Reception" (see picture of me, Danny, Mom and Lalo at the party). Because we had a pretty informal wedding in Central Park in May, we're going to celebrate with my folks' friends (and a friend or two of mine as well!) this weekend. We drove (well, Danny drove) the full 7 hours last night (we arrived at 1:30am) and after sleeping in a bit today and, of course, doing a ton of laundry, we had shabbat dinner at home and then went to Temple Emanuel for Friday night services. It was a special moment for a lot of reasons. We celebrated our one year anniversary (Danny and I met on a blind date one year ago today in New York); and we received a special marriage blessing from my favorite Rabbi of all times - Rabbi Mark Mahler.*
*And, unbeknownst to us at the time, August 14th, would become a very important day for us for the next 9 months...one we constantly refer to....as it was the first day of my last period before we.....well, read on...
